With Summer upon us and feelings of wanderlust, we are sharing visual inspiration and an opportunity for some armchair travel with our seasonal edit of inspiring creatives…

Designer Sarah Andrews is the owner of Captain’s Rest, a magical heritage-listed waterfront cottage on the west coast of Tasmania.  Renovated by Sarah, Captain’s Rest is a highly sought after Airbnb property in a remote and secluded location.  A haven of peace and serenity, the wooden cabin has a view of the sky and sea from every corner.  The striking large antique windows provide panoramic vistas to get lost in the beauty of nature.  The beautifully curated interiors are brought to life through a careful mix of old and new decorative details; fine linens, antique paintings, dried botanicals and nautical ephemera honouring the essence of place and time.  The simple colour palette is warm and calming, seamlessly mirroring the natural environment outside.  View more whimsical, waterfront inspiration from Sarah @captainsrest on Instagram or visit her website portfolio.

The beautiful imagery of  Mercedes Lopez Coello, whose home is perched on the hills of the small Spanish island of Moscari, is wonderfully uplifting.  The simple interior of her home focuses on natural materials such as wood, stone, linen and rattan to create a relaxed style sensitive to the properties history.  Furniture and decoration have been accumulated slowly overtime giving a wonderfully collected look.  The stunning location near to both coast and countryside connects her family to nature and acts as a sanctuary. The exterior of the property has been restored with care and boasts characterful timber shutters and natural stonework set within a beautiful backdrop of wild gardens and cobbled courtyards, perfect for relaxed living and alfresco dining.  You can follow the uplifting account of @mamelopez on Instagram for more beautiful images redolent of restful summer vacations.

Finally, with thoughts of the outdoors it seems fitting to share a home which celebrates the garden in all its glory.  Through her Instagram gallery, Irene Molodtsov shares a beautiful portrayal of quintessential English country life from her beguiling 500-year old Cotswolds Manor House.  This little corner of the internet is a constant source of inspiration through Irene’s bucolic images of her home and garden. Manicured box hedges and topiaries, clusters of pure white hydrangeas, lavender and roaming chickens cannot help to delight even the least green fingered among us.  Through a humble and insightful commentary Irene generously shares her experience of gardening with thoughtful growing tips and inspiring seasonal arrangements. The glimpse into her world via the beautiful Instagram gallery @irenemylife is always wonderfully uplifting and aspirational.
